NYBBW 2016 image compressedThe NYBBW is recruiting the best young brass players in Wales for its exciting 2017 season which will be directed by the leading conductor, Ian Porthouse. Members will be selected at annual auditions to be held throughout the country in November. Please read carefully the notes below before you click on the application form on the bottom of the page.

The NYBBW meets for its annual residential course in Monmouth in July during which the players receive expert tuition from a team of specialist tutors drawn from the ranks of the UK’s best ensembles.

The Band, under the direction of Ian Porthouse, will prepare a challenging programme for performances at Ffwrnes, Llanelli in July and at the North Wales International Festival of Music in September. In addition to music making, Band members enjoy a lively entertainment programme run by the pastoral staff. Activities usually include sports such as swimming, football and rounder’s and evening events such as quizzes, talent nights and much more.
